The angel nebula is a complicated mess of dust and stars in the constellation monoceros. It has dark nebula, star forming regions, but most importantly dozens of small blue reflection nebulae.
This part of the sky is covered in this thick brown dust, and the light from bright blue stars in the area is scattered by the dust, forming these objects. I think the coolest part of the object is the unique tentacle shaped dark nebulae backlit by the red hydrogen cloud.
I shot this image with about 100hrs of exposure time using the triple rasa system in Texas!
